The first Lander College Alumni Shabbaton is here! The full schedule is listed above.
If you do NOT yet know where you are staying (hopefully this is nobody), please contact Aryeh Young at (516) 512-4494.
If you DO know where you are staying, and you are in the dormitory apartments: Please come through the front doors of the main building, and there will be a table set up. If you have not yet paid for the Shabbaton, please pay at that time and someone there will help guide you to whatever room you are in. Please also bring linen.
If you are staying elsewhere, please feel free to go straight to your host home. For those who wish [or whose hosts wish!], there will be tea lights set up on the 4th floor for people to light candles for Shabbos. If you can, however, please quickly stop by the front entrance or come with enough time before Shabbos to give your check in for the Shabbaton. Thank you in advance.
The meals are being catered by Mauzone, and the pizza for the melave malka is going to be from Shimon's. The Viennese table for dessert Friday night is from G&I Bakery.
As this is the first major alumni event, we tried to keep the costs to the alumni low; this Shabbaton is not a fundraiser. That said, the amounts being charged to alumni for the Shabbaton are able to cover about 60% of the costs of the Shabbaton, and some of the fees that were charged for the alumni discount cards covered another 15% or so. The remaining 25% of the costs of the Shabbaton were subsidized by other parts of Lander.
We look forward to an exciting Shabbos, and hope everyone has a great time!

Shabbaton Update |
The planning for the Lander Alumni Shabbaton is well underway, and we'll be putting up more details about what exactly will be happening that weekend in the near future. This Monday, a number of Council members got together in Aryeh Young's luxurious office at Lander and made dozens of phone calls to alumni to tell them about the Shabbaton. The calls were very successful, and close to 60 alumni and their families have already committed to attending the Shabbaton; please pass the word along to all your friends as we'd like to get as many alumni as possible to kick off the first major event of the Lander Alumni! We need to know as soon as possible who will be coming so we can determine housing and meals for everyone, and to keep costs low.
As a reminder, the Shabbaton is $30 for single alumni, $60 for a couple, and $65 for a family.
For more details or to reserve, please contact Aryeh Young at aryeh.young@touro.edu (or LCMAlumni@gmail.com) or any members of the Shabbaton committee: Suchi Hornung, Ariel Kapitnikoff, David Manheim, and Moshe Ornstein.
