Chag Sameach |
From all of us on the Lander Alumni Council, have a wonderful Chag Sameach! Anyone who is in the neighborhood is more than welcome to come by Lander to learn leil Shavuos.
Tonight's event l'iluy nishmas Aliza Shull a'h was a beautiful and inspiring success, starting with a drasha from the Mashgiach R' Moshe Bamberger, followed by strong words of chizuk from Gabi Shull regarding Aliza and her desire to stop all forms of machlokes, in addition to his campaign to have a sefer Torah written in her memory. The evening was capped by the always great R' Paysach Krohn, who touched on Gabi's point with his array of shmuessim and stories while emphasizing the need for showing kavod to one another, especially as we head into Shavuos.
We hope to have the video from TorahAnytime.com within a few weeks and thank them for recording the event.

Shabbaton Schedule |
Other information regarding the Shabbaton, including what to do when you arrive, is here.
Davening will be held in the Beis Medrash; meals and melave malka will be in the dining room on the 4th floor. Babysitting will be likely split between the teacher's lounge on the 4th floor (formerly the exercise room) [for kids who are playing] and the student lounge on the 1st floor [for sleeping kids in strollers]. The women's shalosh seudos will be in the room off of the Beis Medrash.

will be delivering
AN OVERVIEW OF HALLELTuesday Evening

The Mashgiach will be delivering a one-hour halakhic overview of hallel as part of a seven-week scholar-in-residence program hosted by Congregation Etz Chaim, featuring roshei yeshiva from several local yeshivos. The aim of the program is to "become conversant with an area of Jewish law, as taught by the brightest luminaries in our yeshivos.
Rabbi Bamberger is the second rebbe of Beis Medrash L'Talmud to deliver a shiur in this series. Our Rosh HaYeshiva, Rav Abba Bronspiegel shlit"a delivered a discourse on Kavod V'oneg Shabbos earlier in the year.

Alumni Hashkafa Shiur |
Come enjoy a shiur on the parsha and its timeless lessons and reunite with the Mashgiach R' Bamberger and former chaveirim.
The shiur is held every Wednesday at 9:15 PM (culminating with Maariv at 10:00) and will continue every Wednesday evening unless otherwise notified by email. The location will be on the 4th floor in the President's conference room of Lander College for Men, 75-31 150th St., Kew Gardens Hills, NY.
